Today KitzbĂĽhel is best known as the glamorous city of winter sports, but it also inspires culturally with many churches, museums and exhibitions. Numerous traditional shops and world-famous boutiques are also waiting for you.

Lake Chiemsee

The Königssee impresses with its impressive natural backdrop. Because the mighty rocks of the Berchtesgaden Alps fall almost perpendicular to the shore, there are no paths on the shore. The small Hirschau peninsula on the west bank of the Königsee can only be reached on foot by a challenging alpine mountain tour lasting several hours. From Schönau, the approx. 8 km journey by ship is possible all year round. Dates: Usually on Wednesdays; in summer also on Fridays (but always depending on the weather), as well as sporadic special dates.
Location: valley station of the nostalgia chairlift Dürrnbachhorn. This can be reached on foot in about 8 minutes from the large parking lot on the Winklmoos-Alm. Simply follow the signs for “Nostalgie-Stuhlbahn”.
