Klausenberg tour

Starting point: Gut Steinbach

From the hotel we start in the direction of Blindau.

Via Blindau we follow the signs to the Klausenbergalm. We reach the alpine pasture area after approx. 3 km along the Klausenbach. From Garadaus we drive the path past the beautiful alpine pastures, after a mostly closed gate we reach a forest road. Following the signs to Kössen, we reach the highest point with a great view of the Unterberg and the Kaiser Mountains. From here the descent begins. We always follow the well-developed forest road to the state road. We turn right on the street and turn left at the second parking bay, thus crossing the street Kössen - Reit im Winkl at the Neuwirt.

Keeping to the right of the Ache, we take the path to the center of Kössen and turn right before the war memorial, always following the signs for Moserbergweg, Peternhof. The fantastic view of the Kaiser Mountains and the Unterberg makes up for all the effort. At km 14 we reach the Peternhof, but keep straight ahead at the signs for "Fußweg Reit im Winkl". We cross the border past the golf course and drive back via Oberbichlerstrasse and Birnbacherstrasse via the center of Reit im Winkl to Gut Steinbach.

Dichtleralm tour

Starting point: tourist information

From the tourist information office we drive 600 m to the church and leave the main road into Hausbachweg. After 100 m it goes back to Birnbacherstraße. We follow this road to the Oberbichlerstraße junction and cycle to the Kronbichler Chapel, straight on across the border past the golf course and Peternhof to Kössen. Shortly before the center in Kössen, the road to the Mühlberg branches off to the right. We cycle this path, past beautiful farms, then through a ditch until we reach the Taubensee hiking car park. 100 m further on, the forest road branches off to the right with the signs Taubensee / Sauermöser, which we now use. After the Ochsenalm (not serviced) we keep to the left (on the right it goes to the Hutzenalm, we take this path on the way back), and reach the Dichtleralm (not serviced)

The way back is about 2 km on the same route and steeply to the left at the junction described, in 500 m to the Embachalm. Pass this on the left, on a somewhat poor road over the state border 500 m, until a forest road branches off to the right. The road leads straight ahead to Oberwössen. At the end we drive very steeply (challenge) to the right for 200 m to the saddle in front of the Hutzenalm. Here you can stop off with a great view. A steep road leads to the Birnbach district and to Reit im Winkl directly back to the starting point.
